Free Clinics Medical Treatment

By Aurel Radulescu

Free Clinics Medical TreatmentMany individuals work full-time with no benefits, cannot afford medical insurance on their own or simply are unable to find a job that offers medical care. For many, free clinics are their only chance for medical treatment. Available to both children and adults, free clinics are located throughout the United States and commonly found in largely populated cities. Smaller, local clinics are found in virtually every area and are the only forms of medical treatment for some children and their families.

The lack of medical insurance is a problem that affects many workers. When an unfortunate event arises, such as a sudden illness or injury, it can wipe out a family’s savings instantly. While clinics primarily offer general care and not surgical procedures, they are essential in helping the patient to determine if more extensive medical treatment may be required. In addition to testing, free clinics may also provide check-ups, immunizations and other common medical procedures.

The best way to locate free clinics is to inquire with the local health department as to the nearest facility. As patients can expect, clinics are very busy. As such, appointments are typically recommended if at all possible. In the case of an emergency, free clinics may be able to assist a patient or may direct them to the nearest emergency care facility. Early appointments are preferred with patients calling ahead at least one week in advance in order to confirm treatment. In the case of a sudden cold or flu onset, some clinics have the ability to accept patients on a walk-in basis. This is completely dependent upon the schedule and the number of patients with appointments, but there is always the possibility of receiving treatment as a walk-in patient.

The treatments provided at free clinics are often those conducted by qualified medical students, who are under close supervision by a licensed medical doctor. In exchange for the educational experience to students, a number of medical schools provide free clinics to patients without medical insurance or the income to afford paid medical care.

The information in this article is to be used for informational purposes only. It is not intended to be used in conjunction with, or in place of, professional medical advice. Patients who feel that they require ongoing care, which free clinics may not be able to provide, should consult their nearest hospital or medical center for proper diagnosis and treatments of their ailment.

Medical Health Care Professionals

By Michael C Logan

Medical Health Care ProfessionalsMedical assistants and nursing aides are quickly becoming a very lucrative and promising career option. If you are the kind of person who gets true satisfaction from taking care of people then it may be a field that can interest and challenge you. These health care professionals are needed in many different institutions and are extremely high in demand.

Hospitals require nursing assistants or care givers to help share the burden that is put on the nurses on the floor. Also, when a nurse finishes his or her training and is completely licensed the training doesn’t really stop there. Once hired, their training continues on the job and it takes a while before they are ready for active duty. In the case of a nursing aide they are completely proficient in the tasks they have been trained for right from the beginning. They do not need any further training and though they are to be supervised by a licensed nurse they are a lesser headache for the hospital. Also, they are paid less than the nurses thus reducing the financial burden on the institution.

Old Age Homes and Psychiatric Institutions also have a great demand for these care givers. They are completely proficient in carrying out most of a nurse’s chores and tasks and are trained in a manner such that they can take very good care of the patients. Because of the fact that they get paid less than full nurses the institution can hire more professions in the same budget increasing the patient to medical professional percentage. This is good for business but above all it is good for the patients because they can get personalized attention.

These health care professionals are also used for domestic medical care. This means that they are hired by individual homes to take care of ailing family members. Care givers predominantly carry out this job and are more known for this than any other aspect mentioned earlier. There are a number of agencies that can assign these professionals to any household that has a requirement for them. In homes where there is a member that has a chronic disease or is in the recuperation phase of a bad injury, a health care professional will be required to help out. In this case the professional can be a part-time or a full-time nurse.

A part-time nurse is one that is assigned to look after the patient’s medication and general welfare in the time period during the day in which a family member is not around. This means that usually during work hours the patient’s care is in the hands of the nurse but once the family member returns home the nurse can leave. A full-time nurse however usually lives in the patient’s home because it’s his or her duty to look after the patient 24 hours a day. Any medication and physiotherapy regimes that the patient needs to follow are to be monitored and carried out by the professional as part of the duty.

Immediate Medical Care Centers

By Mark Middleton

When you or a loved one needs help that only a physician can provide, you do not have many options for where to go. There is the hospital, your family doctor in some cases, and immediate medical care centers. When you need care IMMEDIATELY for a non-fatal injury, the emergency room can be a very long and arduous process. They are always packed full of sick and injured people, and odds are fair that you will not be treated quickly unless you are literally on the brink of death. Fortunately for many there are smaller urgent care centers located in places where a hospital is not within quick or feasible reach. They are able to handle any medical situation that may arise that would require a hospital visit. This includes such things as check-ups, flu shots and other inoculations, and sports physicals, etc.

If your child wishes to attend summer camp, or participate in any manner of recreational or school sports they will need a physical examination and a note saying so. By going to your physician or local hospital you can count on a very long wait and a large bill. The ordeal can be much shorter by going to an immediate medical care center (I.M.C.C.). If you are a professional owning or running a business you should have the number of one of these places on speed dial. Work related injuries are a tricky matter and ANY injury that takes place on company property leaves you or your superior liable. Waiting even a moment can mean major problems down the line. The solution; take the injured persons to a place they can receive adequate medical attention as fast as possible. Oftentimes this mean going to an urgent care center.

Flu shots are becoming increasingly necessary for everyone, and in most hospitals nothing can be considered “walk-in,” however these places usually provide walk in inoculations, flu shots being the simplest. For more serious injuries, such as sprains and fractures, serious attention is required, and time certainly counts. If you go to a major health center it will take at least an hour. An immediate center will be able to fully x-ray and set the bone in a cast in the time it would take to be served
